Amber Dorsey, Psy.D.
I was born in Morganton, NC, and raised in Charlotte, NC. I am a military spouse and mother of two beautiful children, ages 3 and 7. I enjoy traveling, doing DIY home projects, and spending time with family and friends. I just completed the requirements for my doctoral degree in clinical psychology. Which is also known as a Psy.D. I provide individual therapy for all ages, but specialize in working with children, teens, and their families. My favorite part of my job is psychological evaluations. I am a numbers person and I love data, but I also love the idea of integrating information from the tests and from the person’s background to help them better understand themselves.

Through The Clinical Cookout, I aim to reduce the risk of intergenerational transmission of mental health symptoms through educating parents on ways to identify and learn to manage their individual symptoms. Additionally, I would like to help parents understand how mental health problems can present in children and ways to effectively respond to support healthy social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
